1959 Schwinn Prototype

This Schwinn bike was made in the 1970’s and was patterened after the 1959 Schwinn prototype bike drawing. Supposedly, this prototype bike was to replace the popular Schwinn Phantom which was at the end of its era. Instead of producing this prototype, Schwinn went with the mid-weight models as did other bike companies; plus, at this time, Schwinn was gearing-up for their production of the Stingray/Krate models.
