This Schwinn Collegiate is a 5-Speed model in excellent original condition. The original candy-lime green paint shows like new and the reflectors are even still in the spokes. Very often, these reflectors were removed if the bike wasn’t owned by an adult. I remember as a kid, it was common knowledge that reflectors weren’t cool, so off they go! Even the original gumwall tires are still on the rims and serviceable. The chrome fenders, accessory speedometer and headlight really set this bike off.
Lightweight vintage bicycles like this are gaining in popularity among enthusiasts and collectors, not only because it’s a classic American made Schwinn, but they ride very nice and have a great vintage look.
