Western Flyer was the brand of Western Auto Supply stores. Many manufacturers made bicycles for Western Auto, including Shelby Cycle Co., the Cleveland Welding Co., Murray-Ohio, Huffman Mfg Co., and others. Some of the most collectible Western Flyer bicycles were those made by Shelby, most notably the Speedline Airflo model of the late 1930’s. In the 1950’s there were a few models that were exclusives to the Western Flyer name, such as the Murray built X-53.
