1884 Tricycle Velocipede

Antique tricycle with patent date of 1884. It’s likely of later construction, but I’ve not researched it to find out exactly when, or who made it. This was restored with some creative freedom, since none of the original paint or fabric was still intact. The scrollwork on the rear of the seat rest is gold leaf that has been pinstriped. Fabric is traditional mohair, which is likely what they would have used on it originally.
