1939 Monark Superframe 5-Bar

by Dave Stromberger · February 7, 2001

Monark Silver King Inc. made this unusual bicycle with a frame with dual top tubes and dual down tubes plus the bar under the tank, making up 5 bars, thus the nickname “5-bar”.

Art deco paint scheme on the horn tank. Notice the painted horn button. This was done from the factory because the horn unit is actually spot welded in place.
